Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and West Virginia

Carol Wheeler - 160920

I was born and raised on a dairy farm in rural southeast Ohio. After high school graduation, worked in public sector for 3 years, then returned to farm life and started in the beef cattle business. I returned to partial off farm work in 1979 with Producers Livestock Association for 9 years and then to Ohio State University Extension, retiring from there with 17 years of service. My husband, Howard, and I have been in the registered Angus seed stock business, Rolling W Farm, for several years and currently maintain a herd of 25 cows.

I have served as secretary for Buckeye Quality Beef Association, an R-CALF USA affiliate, since 2008. The diligent work by Buckeye Quality Beef Association members helped to defeat the 2012 efforts to raise Ohio beef checkoff assessments from $1 to $2 per animal sold. I am a staunch supporter of the issues R-CALF USA pursues to benefit independent cattle producers.
